Joe includes a rating, in all his tasting notes

I don’t really believe that rating wines can be as definitive as giving a score out of 100 and my actual preference has always been to rate the wine with a #word.

I incorporate this word in my tasting notes and it indicates my thoughts on the wines overall quality.

However, Member feedback has been that you’d like to see my 100pt ratings, so from August 2022, I have also included these in the product descriptions.

• #excellentwine =92-94pts

• #verygoodwine = 88-91 pts

• #goodwine = 84 - 87pts

 I taste pretty much every bottle that I recommend on this site and add my rating accordingly. Being a one man band, it is however not always possible to try every wine and not always possible to write detailed notes (especially at trade tastings)

In these cases, I may source winemaker notes off their website or use a third party endorsement from a reputable critic (eg: James Halliday), and I will clarify this in the product description
