About Maclean Bay Wines
Maclean Bay Wines Vineyard began as a hobby in 2013 when Scott and Sonia decided to settle on the East Coast of Tasmania. This hobby has now propelled into a commercial grape growing and wine producing business. Scott has over 15 years experience in the horticulture industry and now works full time in irrigation. They attend to the vineyard on weekends with their two young children in tow. With their passion for the East Coast of Tasmania and wine they hope to be able to grow & create some of Tasmania’s finest wines.
Maclean Bay vineyard is around 2 hectares in size and 10 minutes North of Bicheno. The bay in front of the vineyard is known as Maclean Bay. This beautiful, untouched bay is visible from the vines.
The long growing season and cool nights enables the grapes to ripen gradually, giving slow sugar and flavour development. The rich clay-based soil which the vines grow, is perfect for viticulture.
We currently produce Pinot Noir, Pinot Rosé and Sparkling Rosé.
