Small Wonder Auburn Pinot Noir 2024
Small Wonder Auburn Pinot Noir 2024 is medium-bodied and beautifully structured, opening with bright red cherry and wild raspberry fruit. Dried oregano and thyme bring a savoury herbal edge through the mid-palate, complemented by roasted spice, subtle oak and a fresh pomegranate-like tang. Silky, finely shaped tannins provide structure, while cleansing acidity keeps the wine energetic and carries the red fruit and savoury spice through a long, composed finish.
Winemaking
Hand-picked fruit was sorted into small open-top fermenters with 20% whole-bunch inclusion, adding aromatic complexity and structure. After two weeks on skins, the free-run wine was gravity-drained to a combination of new and seasoned French oak, where it underwent malolactic fermentation. The wine matured in barrel for 10 months, with the finest components then selected for the final Auburn blend.
