Henskens Rankin Sparkling Brut Rose 2018

An exceptionally elegant and refined Tasmanian sparkling rosé, with a delicate pale pink hue, a fine, persistent bead and remarkable complexity. The palate opens with fresh raspberries, ripe strawberries, white peach and pear, complemented by delicate white floral notes. The mid-palate is beautifully layered, revealing lemon custard, toasted brioche, nougat and subtle savoury nuances developed through extended ageing on yeast lees. Fine, taut acidity brings wonderful freshness and precision, leading to a long, dry and savoury finish with lingering hints of oyster shell and refreshing salinity.

Winemaking:

Crafted using the traditional method, with an extraordinary eight years of maturation on yeast lees, developing remarkable complexity while retaining freshness and finesse. With a very low dosage of just 2.85g/L, this is a beautifully dry and precise sparkling rosé. Only 830 bottles were produced, reflecting Henskens Rankin's dedication to small-batch winemaking.

Freshly shucked oysters, seared scallops with lemon butter, grilled chicken tacos, smoked salmon, tapas and a selection of Tasmanian soft cheeses.
