Quiet Mutiny Charlotte's Elusion Riesling 2023

A characterful Derwent Valley Riesling from Quiet Mutiny, Charlotte’s Elusion combines bright citrus fruit with floral aromatics, savoury complexity and a distinctive textural edge.

Juicy lime, grapefruit and lemon lead into jasmine and delicate floral notes, with hints of spice and a subtle creamy richness adding interest through the mid-palate. Fine, briny acidity keeps the wine energetic, while gentle herbal and stony characters give it a more savoury dimension than a purely fruit-driven Riesling.

The finish is long, zesty and mineral, with lingering citrus, fine texture and mouthwatering acidity. With 3 years in bottle it is starting to show some developed honey suckle characters and the structure will ensure several good years ahead of it and if you love older Rieslings, then you're already a couple of years ahead of time.

Food Match: Fresh oysters, sashimi, grilled prawns or salt-and-pepper squid. Also excellent with Vietnamese or Thai dishes, particularly those featuring fresh herbs, lime and gentle spice.
