Woodstock Deep Sands Shiraz 2023

Sourced from Woodstock Estate and neighbouring vineyards in Blewitt Springs, the Deep Sands Shiraz 2023 is a vibrant and generously flavoured expression of McLaren Vale Shiraz.

Cherry, plum and blackberry lead the way, with white pepper, earthy spice and subtle dark chocolate adding complexity. The palate is rich and fleshy without becoming heavy, with bright fruit, fresh acidity and soft, structured tannins carrying through to a savoury, persistent finish.

The deep sandy soils and cooler conditions of Blewitt Springs help give this Shiraz an appealing combination of McLaren Vale generosity, freshness and elegance.

Winemaking

The Shiraz was fermented on skins for a minimum of five days, with the fermenting wine pumped over twice daily. After pressing, most of the wine was matured in stainless steel to retain freshness and fruit expression, with a small portion aged in second- and third-use oak for up to 12 months.

Food Match

A great match with chargrilled lamb and red wine jus, barbecue beef, slow-cooked pork or a platter of cured meats and smoked cheddar.
