Arras Sparkling Grand Vintage 2015

One of Australia’s benchmark sparkling wines, Arras Grand Vintage 2015 is a blend of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir sourced from Tasmania’s Derwent Valley, East Coast, Coal River Valley and Pipers River.

After six years ageing on lees, the wine has developed wonderful depth and complexity while retaining the freshness and tension that defines top Tasmanian sparkling. White peach, pear and grapefruit lead into layers of fresh pastry, butter biscuit, honeycomb and subtle savoury notes. The palate is finely textured with an exceptionally persistent bead, crisp acidity and a mineral edge running through the wine.

The finish is long, dry and beautifully composed, with lingering citrus, biscuit and savoury complexity. With a low dosage of just 2.6g/L, this is refined, serious sparkling wine that shows both the quality of the 2015 vintage and the extraordinary ageing potential of Tasmanian fruit.

Food Match: Fresh oysters, sashimi, scallops or lobster, particularly dishes with a little butter, citrus or subtle Asian spice.
