Dawson James Island Belle Pinot Noir 2024
From Tasmaniaโs Derwent Valley, Dawson James Island Belle Pinot Noir 2024 is a beautifully expressive cool-climate Pinot Noir combining ripe fruit with savoury detail and fine structure.
Black cherry, raspberry and ripe red fruits lead into exotic spice and subtle floral notes, with the 40% whole-bunch component bringing a gently savoury, bunchy character through the mid-palate. Maturation in seasoned French oak adds texture rather than obvious oak flavour, giving the wine a creamy feel while allowing the purity of the fruit to remain at the centre.
The finish is long, fresh and finely structured, with gentle tannins, bright natural acidity and lingering red fruit, spice and savoury complexity. There is plenty of immediate drinking appeal here, but also enough balance and structure to develop further with some time in bottle.
Food Match: Roast duck, grilled quail, mushroom dishes or pork. Also excellent with charcuterie or earthy vegetable dishes.
Region: Derwent Valley, Tasmania
