Langmeil Prime Cut Shiraz 2023

The Langmeil Prime Cut Shiraz 2023 opens with a generous burst of red plum and black cherry, giving the wine a juicy and immediately appealing entry.

Medium to full-bodied, there’s plenty of Barossa richness here, but the oak remains nicely restrained. Fennel, bush pepper, orange peel and violet add interest around the fruit, with savoury spice and moderately firm tannins carrying through to a long, velvety finish.

There’s generosity without excessive weight, making this a very approachable Barossa Shiraz and a particularly good wine for sharing around the barbecue.

Winemaking

Made from 100% Shiraz sourced from vineyards across Light Pass, Lyndoch, Penrice, Vine Vale and Flaxman Valley, with vine ages ranging from 13 to 123 years.

The wine was matured for 12 months in American oak hogsheads, comprising 10% new oak and 90% seasoned oak.

Food Match

Perfect with a summer barbecue, particularly grilled steak or lamb. Also try it with beef stroganoff, osso buco or a meat-lovers pizza.
