Pooley Cooinda Vale Pinot Noir 2024 from Tasmania’s Coal River Valley is a finely structured single-vineyard expression showing lifted aromas of dark cherry, violet and subtle spice with an earthy, mineral edge. The palate is elegant yet powerful, with vibrant red and dark berry fruit layered over fine, chalky tannins and bright, focused acidity. A touch of whole-bunch influence adds savoury spice, herbal complexity and graphite-like structure. The wine builds shape and tension through the mid-palate, finishing long, stony and precise. Refined, ageworthy and beautifully balanced, it’s already expressive but will reward short to medium-term cellaring.
